Grandma's Noodle Pudding (Kugel)

Our other grandmother made the best "kugel." No matter how many times we follow her recipe exactly, it never comes out as good as hers! This is a simple and delicious version, as there are many different varieties of kugel. We prefer to eat this warm for breakfast or as a side dish with a brisket or roast chicken dinner. The measurements were gotten by watching her make it, so it's not exact.

1 cup sugar
1 1/2 large (mixing spoon size) spoons vanilla extract
1/2 container 8oz. cottage cheese (large curd works best)
2 1/2 level tbsp. sour cream
3 eggs
3/4 box egg noodles (preferably Goodman's), cooked

Mix all ingredients together. Pour into a greased, deep, casserole dish. Bake at 400 for 1 hour, with no cover. The noodles on top will be brown when done.
