This is our first post! We will begin with some family favorites. This recipe is very simple and delicious! It came from our grandmother who made this many years ago before all of the technology we now have and enjoy. It is our father's favorite cake and we will make it for him this Father's Day.
1/4 lb. sweet butter, softened
1 cup sugar
3 cups flour
pinch salt
2 heaping tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1 cup milk
Mix first 5 ingredients together. Remove a handful of mixture and put aside. Save for the end.
In another bowl, beat together eggs and milk. Add to other mixture and beat until smooth and air bubbles appear. Pour into a greased loaf pan or 8x8 pan. Sprinkle the remainder (handful)
of mixture over the top. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out dry.
