Bea's Thanksgiving Turkey Stuffing

This is our family "traditional" stuffing. We have had it every Thanksgiving since we were born and we are careful that no one deviates from this recipe. We are big on family traditions in our family! This recipe is very plain, with no added condiments, etc. But, we prefer it that way. You can take this basic recipe and add whatever you like to it. Thanks again, Mom!

1 box (4 stacks) saltine crackers
2-3 onions, chopped
vegetable/canola oil
2 eggs, beaten
salt
black pepper
garlic powder

Soak crackers in water for a few minutes. Wring out well. Set aside. Saute onions
in oil until nice and brown. Remove from heat, save oil in pan. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and eggs to cracker mixture. Mix well. Add onions and 1 tbsp. oil form pan. Mix all together and fill turkey cavity. Sew together or put aluminum foil over cavity. You will most likey have more stuffing than what fits in the turkey cavity. Put the excess in a greased casserole dish, cover, and bake with the turkey.
