Everyone needs a good bowl of chicken soup now and then, especially during cold/flu season. This is the one that was passed down to us from our wonderful Grandma Molly.
The amount of the ingredients will vary according to how much chicken you use.
chicken breasts & wings attached (with bone)
celery
carrots
onions
fresh dill
parsley
salt
chicken bouillon
parsnip
Put the chicken in a large pot and cover the chicken completely with water. Add salt. Turn to a high heat and let boil. Lower heat to simmer. Add vegetables and chicken bouillon cube or powder. Put the cover on. Simmer for an hour. Serve with cooked egg noodles. We like to remove the chicken first, take it off the bone, then put it back in the soup before serving.
